Aliens Vs Predator: Requiem

Repeat Of AVP but this time in a proper inhabited town

Review by James, from UK, on 11-May-2008

Aliens Vs Predator was terrible as a massive fan boy I still enjoyed bits of it, but it was never and will be never a good film.
AVP 2 I thought was going to be even worse but despite this I felt it was OK. Not great but certainately watchable (especially if your a fan).
The main problem is a lone predator is dispatched (why is a mystery?)to sort out many aliens (cheaper effects wise) granted, but still it cheapens the menance that is the alien. Also aliens go toe-to-toe with the predator too much (not it's advantage I think). Still the inclusion of small town America was a good idea as it has long been thought about the damage they could cause on Earth.

Having said the film was enjoyable! Death scenes were a bit routine at times and too little emphasis placed on character development (not surprising given very short run time- less then 90 mins)

Much better than the first AVP. But unfortunately still lacking a lot from either great predecessors. Worth a watch though.

Thank You
