What could go wrong when a specialist plans to outsmart his own system and runaway rich and in love?

First things first, this is a very great movie. Although this movie is quite sinister, especially for the time that it was made, it is quite a good work of cinematography. This movie kept me wanting to know what would happen next through its duration. This movie kept me at “the edge of my seat” and I watched every second of this movie. The one thing though that did bother me, was the actual darkness of the picture, I guess I can really only blame the technology of the time, oh well.
The movie is about a guy named Walter. He is an insurance salesman. One day, he goes to the house of Mr. Dietrichson to try and get him to renew his automobile insurance. When Walter goes inside the house, he finds that Mr. Dietrichson isn’t there but his wife is. As soon as Walter laid eyes on Mrs. Dietrichson, he was in love with her. So in love, that he would not realize what he was doing through the entirety of the movie. Phyllis (Mrs. Dietrichson), asks Walter what he is at the house for and Walter tells her that he needs to speak to her husband about his automobile insurance. She eventually asks Walter about life insurance and immediately Walter knows that she wants her husband dead and just wants the money that comes from the insurance company when he dies “accidently”. At first, Walter does not give in but eventually does. Walter tries to talk Mr. Dietrichson a few days later about getting life insurance. He refuses to buy life insurance. Walter, being the scammer that he is, told Mr. Dietrichson to sign for the life insurance saying that it was automobile insurance papers. Mr. Dietrichson did not read the papers and just signed away. So now the trap was set and all Walter and Mrs. Dietrichson had to do was kill Mr. Dietrichson and make it look like an accident to get the money from the insurance company and then they could run off together. But they didn’t want to just get the normal sum of money, they wanted to get the double indemnity bonus from this insurance company. So they arranged for Mr. Dietrichson to “accidently” die in a manner that will give Walter and Mrs. Dietrichson double indemnity. Walter and Mrs. Dietrichson succeed in killing Mr. Dietrichson but were they able to make it seem like it was a total accident? That I cannot tell you for you have to watch the movie yourself and find out!
I would like to say that this movie is a must-see, especially for those who are huge fans of dramas. I would like to give this movie 8 stars out of 10. I never realized that I would like this movie so much, but it really struck my attention and I think it is a very enjoyable movie for most audiences. So go ahead, get this movie, pop some popcorn and get ready to have your eyes glued to the screen!
