Ever After

REVIEW
Ever After felt like more of a fairytale copycat of Cinderella. But there would be a stage in the movie where you would feel the emotions of Drew Barrymore’s character being either in love or torned apart. The family she has, had been mean and evil to her as they treated her like a slave which she was. Her two step sisters where mean and arrogant to her treating her like a bag of rubbish, also her step mother had treated her that way what can you say like MOTHER , like DAUGHTER.
Ever After, wouldn’t you think it was another Cinderella story? Andy Tennant must of chose this type of theme because he wanted to transform and add more drama to the movie than what it usually is .Andy must have been more careful about changing the movie into a more of a true, more REAL and meaningful story than what Cinderella is like fake and too perfect.
Usually the audience for this movie would be mature adults so they would get the movie and they love DRAMA, but I think the audience would be teenagers and up because it has more impact on teenagers, and they usually go through these troubles in life more often than adults.
Andy surely chose to direct this because he is saying that there’s not always a happy but always a truthful one. His setting’s of Ever After is exactly the same as Cinderella but he puts the “D” in DRAMA!
The beginning of the movie was a great start to introduce the Ever After tale, he introduced it like as if the movie was about a tale that’s been re-written, the middle of the story was a bit cheesy in a way of too much romance but there’s was a lot of comedy as to the punch up scene being the funniest. The end was MAGICAL with all the people, as if the air had been polluted with something out of this world, it just felt special at that moment of the scene.
Drew Barrymore(Danielle) was great in this film, she had the talent, the emotions, the feelings and the connections to her character as if she had been through it or something. Dougray Scott( Prince Henry) was good but not good enough he could of tried a little harder than what he did with his acting. Megan Dodds( Marguerite De Ghent) was as mean as a bull which made her the villian and Melanie Lynskey( Jacqueline De Ghent) was more of like, at the beginning she was kind of mean but when she started to get to know Danielle she was more of a sister to her than to Marguerite which made her on my list to success, and as for Angelica Huston(Baroness Rodmilla De Ghent) was evil like ….. Cruella Devil in 101 Dalmation’s that’s what made her tempting to kill. Patrick Godfrey( Leonardo Da Vinci) was more of a roll model to me.
The story line fitted the movie perfectly making it a great film to watch.
The camera shots were alright but some shots were not, for example all the close ups were all terrible, it was held right but the amount of contrast and it was a bit too close to their faces which made it a very how can I say it a very blury display. There was no screw ups like bluryness, too much contrast or little, the way the camera would stay still. All shots were perfect from my eyes.
The Music in the movie is more of an old-fashion kind of type but it mixes really well with the costumes and the background of the scenes. The music that is mostly played represents either Danielles feelings for example the punch up scene is way of a fast paste sound because of all the fury and running in the houses.
