Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Dumped, dejected and depressed, Peter takes off to Hawaii to escape the memories of his ex only to find she planned the same get away.

As the lights shut off and the screen turned on my expectations for Forgetting Sarah Marshall were low. Having pegged it as another teen attraction film I was pleasantly surprised by both the sweet plot and the tender nature of the main character. This film could easily have taken the turn of Knocked Up, 40 Year Old Virgin and countless other mindless movies, but instead I found myself watching an appealing film about the struggles of a broken hearted ex-boyfriend as he attempts to find closure and move on with his life after his actress girlfriend dumps him.
Admittedly this film is not without its raunchy moments but with a plot like Forgetting Sarah Marshall the writers had plenty of chances to turn this into a nauseating, sex-filled romp like Good Luck Chuck but instead it was filled with heartfelt moments with Peter while he looks back on what he lost and realizes what he gained. This movie is brimming with clever and adorable moments such as Peter playing his Dracula song and the flash backs that make him realize that maybe Sarah isn’t the girl for him. With humor and (mostly) good grace Sarah Marshall grips the audience as the best comedy this year.
